How Technology is Revolutionizing the Industry

Since the advent of the internet age, the technological and communication fields have been totally revamped and function in completely different ways. With new ideas and new ways to communicate these ideas, information has never been so quickly shared and brought to fruition. But how is it truly changing the world around us? What are the noticeable, everyday differences that the dawn of online technologies has brought?

1. Faster

The speed at which information is being created, shared and built is truly astonishing. 20 years ago, what took a week to complete or share now take milliseconds. But with this change comes an entirely new and hyper-competitive market that needed information yesterday and wants to see results in a minute. Although this time period will be referenced as the Age of the Internet in the future’s history books, this is definitely the age of instant gratification. People want what they want, when they want, exactly how they imagine it. And why do they want things to be this way? Because it can be done, because we now have the technology and resources to do unlimited number of activities. The possibilities are endless which can create a society that always wants more of everything.

2. Accuracy

What people want more than instant gratification is they want to know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the information they are receiving is the most accurate and up-to-date information. The truly benevolent function of the internet is being able to ask a question and receive thousands of answer instantly. And depending on the subject, it seems as if there is no question that hasn’t been inputted in the internet’s cache. Even more amazing are sites like Wikipedia that allow for public individuals to create their own content and then have staff members or just other individuals edit and check the information’s accuracy. In the age of Google, there are no such thing as questions, only answers.

3. Audience

The internet has not become a facet of every person’s life, almost inescapable. But more significant than that is that never before have people throughout the world been more connected. Companies, schools, musicians and others have been able to reach audiences that would have been excluded prior to the birth of the internet. Instead of a world comprised of countries and territories and regions, there is now a global community.
